Summer Reading Requirements
Each student is required to read a total of three books.
1) All students are required to read Duke by Kirby Larson.
2) All students are required to read a mystery from the list of popular series.
3) All students are required to read a nonfiction book(s) about dogs or World War II (approximately 50-75 pages)
4) All students, along with a family member, are asked to complete an activity and bring evidence of the activity to school in August. This may be a picture of the final product. There will be a display showcasing these projects.
Additional books may be any age appropriate book of the student's choice.

You may obtain the books by purchasing through a local bookstore, through an online bookstore or by checking the book out at your local public library! (see links in Website box below)
Family Activity- Choose One
Choose one of the following activites and have fun with the family!
Bring a picture to school to document the fun.
Build a Model - car, airplane, etc.
Collect "Dog" Jokes and write them in a journal.
Learn Origami and create a masterpiece.
Ride your bicycle and keep a log of the miles.
Bake cookies or a cake.
Choose One Title from a Popular Series
Red Blazer Girls
Choose One Nonfiction book about Dogs or World War II
Read 50-75 pages of factual, age-appropriate information about dogs, service dogs, or World War II. You may read one book that is 50 -75 pages or a combination of nonfiction titles to equal 50-75 pages.
